All Things Sorted

Just a quick post - our internet has still not been hooked up at our new flat so I am writing this during a quiet moment at work. We moved in on Saturday, it took us 2 trips in the StreetVan (including a load from Ikea!) to get everything moved. Noise is famous for his ability to pack lots of things into small spaces so he really got the van crammed full. We ended up making two runs to Ikea to get everything outfitted - the first day we bought some things like dishes and other kitchen items, and a nice shelving unit for the living room which we found in the bargain section. The second day we picked up a few storage items, once we had put more away and got a better idea of what was needed. Typical Victorian house with not enough storage space, however everything has a place now and we are settling in. Buggy likes the new place, he really likes the garden and I think he likes having the stairs to exercise on as well. ;) He is having to learn that when our neighbour comes in through the shared entrance, it is NOT someone coming into our flat and he is NOT to bark at her! We haven't really met our upstairs neighbour yet, just really briefly one day, so I have been looking out for an opportunity to introduce myself to her.

The new flat is wonderful - the living room and kitchen in particular are lovely. Gorgeous high ceilings with period trim, a lovely big fireplace. The kitchen is eat-in and all modern (with a dishwasher - yay!) and open to the living room. The spare room is at the back with doors out onto the garden. Upstairs is the master bedroom and en suite bathroom. It has a pretty patio garden with room for the BBQ and patio table, plus flower beds around each side. The garden is very private and not really overlooked which is particularly nice, and much sunnier than our previous garden. The neighbourhood is great, everything you could possibly need within walking distance. Also the demographic is different; most of the residents are late-20s or early-30s, young professionals. My new commute is 25 minutes instead of 45 which is really lovely.

I will definitely post some photos as soon as we get an internet connection, which is supposedly going to be next week. Don't even get me started on the whole BT thing - I will leave that rant for Noise, stay tuned for that!
